Earlier this week, more than two dozen volunteers laced up their walking shoes to help shape the future of the community by joining the RTC and City Of Henderson in a walk audit. What is a walk audit? It\u2019s a close-up look at the many conditions that can impact walkability in an area including lighting, access for mobility devices and transit stops, uneven surfaces and overall comfort.<\/p>\r\n

This coordinated effort is part of a larger long-term plan to ensure the College Area of Henderson provides a quality and equitable experience for pedestrians and cyclists. Volunteers endured the chilly weather to collect data and information along a three-mile route.<\/p>\r\n

Feedback from the walk audit will be incorporated into the Livable Centers Study, part of the broader plan to expand and upgrade transportation options in the 1,400-acre College Area of Henderson over the next 10 to 20 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n
