It\u2019s time to DROP it like it’s TROP! The Nevada Department of Transportation\u2019s (NDOT) \u201cDropicana\u201d project is reconstructing the I-15 Tropicana Interchange in efforts to add capacity and improve accessibility to the Las Vegas Strip. The RTC urges transit passengers and motorists to prepare for detours and delays during this 18-month long project. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
Construction will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 17\u00a0resulting in a full closure of Tropicana Avenue from January 22-30 and a full closure of I-15 from Jan. 27-30. How may this affect you?<\/p>\r\n
Transit Riders: <\/strong><\/p>\r\n Due to increased traffic, transit riders should prepare for detours and possible delays in the following routes:<\/p>\r\n CX<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Centennial Express<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 11 p.m. \u2013 Sunday, Jan. 29 at 11 p.m.<\/p>\r\n Detour to Flamingo Rd, Koval Ln and Hacienda Ave. from I-15<\/p>\r\n ROUTE 201<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Tropicana<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Sunday, Jan. 22 at midnight \u2013 Monday, Jan. 30 at 5 a.m.<\/p>\r\n Detour on Tropicana from Valley View Blvd. and Las Vegas Blvd.<\/p>\r\n Riders are encouraged to visit the RTC\u2019s Detours<\/a> page for more information and download the free rideRTC App<\/a> for estimated arrival times.<\/p>\r\n Paratransit Customers:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n RTC paratransit customers with rides scheduled near I-15 and Tropicana Ave. are urged to call (702) 228-4800 to verify if their ride will be impacted.<\/p>\r\n Motorists: <\/strong><\/p>\r\n Drivers are highly encouraged to seek alternate routes to prepare for detours and delays due to the following closures and restricted access: \u00a0Tuesday, Jan. 17 \u2013Monday, Jan. 30<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Expect restricted access around the area of I-15 and Tropicana Ave. The ramps from I-15 to Tropicana will be closed.<\/p>\r\n Sunday, Jan. 22 at 5 a.m. \u2013 Monday, Jan. 30<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Tropicana Ave. closed in both directions between Dean Martin Drive and New York-New York<\/p>\r\n Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m. \u2013 Monday, Jan. 30 at 5 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n I-15 will be CLOSED in both directions between Russell Rd and Flamingo Rd.<\/p>\r\n For more information visit https:\/\/www.i15trop.com\/<\/a> and watch the video below: \u00a0<\/p>\r\n
