{"id":9087,"date":"2022-12-12T13:07:12","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T21:07:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/news\/?p=9087"},"modified":"2022-12-12T13:07:29","modified_gmt":"2022-12-12T21:07:29","slug":"rtc-celebrates-30-years-of-connecting-southern-nevadans-through-transit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rtc.staging.snvhost.net\/news\/rtc-celebrates-30-years-of-connecting-southern-nevadans-through-transit\/","title":{"rendered":"RTC Celebrates 30 Years of Connecting Southern Nevadans through Transit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>RTC Celebrates 30 Years of Connecting Southern Nevadans through Transit<\/strong><\/h1>\r\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>Anniversary bus wrap unveiled; drivers and mechanics honored for 30 years of service; future transit plans announced<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>LAS VEGAS \u2013 <\/strong>Leaders of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) launched a year-long celebration to mark 30 years of providing transit service to Southern Nevadans, keeping the community connected to jobs, schools, medical appointments, entertainment, and more.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been connecting our community for 30 years, integrating public transit as the backbone of daily life for thousands of Southern Nevadans,\u201d said MJ Maynard, CEO of the RTC. \u201cWhether it\u2019s getting students to school, connecting employees to work, taking customers to businesses, or carrying fans to a Raiders or Golden Knights game, RTC has been there, providing 1.5 billion rides to connect people to the places that matter most.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>At Monday\u2019s press conference, hosted at the RTC\u2019s Bonneville Transit Center, officials recognized several drivers and mechanics who have kept the community moving for nearly three decades. The RTC acknowledged the drivers, mechanics, and transit service staff with custom bus stop plaques to promote their relentless pursuit of serving the community. Additionally, the RTC unveiled a commemorative bus wrap to mark the occasion.<\/p>\r\n<p>The RTC will continue to celebrate the past, present and future of driving Southern Nevada forward with monthly initiatives focused on keeping the community connected, starting with a service expansion in late January to increase the reliability of transit for riders.
