This year, <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalvoterregistrationday.org\/about\/\">National Voter Registration Day<\/a> is Tuesday, Sept. 20. It serves as a day when organizations from all over the country help raise awareness about voter registration and provide opportunities to get more Americans involved.<\/p>\r\n<p>You may be asking yourself, how do I register? We\u2019ve done our research to help you choose which registration method may be right for you. Before you head out or log on, double-check the requirements below to make sure you are eligible.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Nevada Voter Registration Eligibility: <\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Must be a United States citizen<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Must be at least 17 years old (if preregistering to vote) or at least 18 years old by the date of the election (if registering to vote)<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Must have continuously resided in their Nevada county at least 30 days before the date of the election<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Must have continuously resided in their precinct at least 10 days before the date of the election<\/li>\r\n\t<li>No court has declared you to be mentally incompetent<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Any individual who has been convicted of a felony and is currently serving a term of imprisonment cannot register to vote or otherwise participate in the voting process while the individual is in prison<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Ways to register to vote: <\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Online <\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Those interested in registering online from the comfort of their home can visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvsos.gov\/SOSVoterServices\/registration\/step0.aspx\">https:\/\/www.nvsos.gov\/SOSVoterServices\/registration\/step0.aspx<\/a>. This method does require a valid, unexpired Nevada driver\u2019s license, Nevada DMV-issued state ID card, or Nevada DMV interim document.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>In Person<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>If you wish to register in person, you can do so at one of the locations below:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>The Clark County Election Department<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Any City Clerk\u2019s office<\/li>\r\n\t<li>The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Any Nevada State Welfare Agency or WIC Office<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>By Mail<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>Mail-in applications can be submitted at the following locations:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>The Clark County Election Department<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Any City Clerk\u2019s office<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Post offices<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Libraries<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Political party offices<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Chambers of Commerce<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Be aware! One of the main reasons that Americans do not register to vote is due to missing important deadlines.
