Congressman Steven Horsford, NDOT Director Kristina Swallow, and RTC<\/a> CEO MJ Maynard held a \u201cCommuting With Your Congressman\u201d transportation event at the Bonneville Transit Center on Monday, Dec. 20.\u00a0 The event highlighted the benefits of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for Nevada and riders shared their transportation experiences with speakers and guests. Congressman Horsford voted to pass the Act, which was signed by President Biden last month.<\/p>\r\n

During the event, Congressman Horsford presented the RTC with a ceremonial check representing the $150 million that our community will receive to improve public transportation and roadways throughout Southern Nevada.<\/p>\r\n

\u201cInvestments in public transit are investments in Nevada\u2019s future,\u201d said Congressman Steven Horsford. \u201cThis funding means fewer cars on the road, less pollution, and faster commute times \u2014 especially in the underserved communities that rely on public transit the most.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

Projects funded through the IIJA will focus on efforts to support safety, equity, modernization, and climate action.<\/p>\r\n
