The Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition (SNVBC) is celebrating cycling to kick off its \u201cLet\u2019s Get There Together\u201d campaign during <strong>First Friday, Nov. 5<\/strong>, in the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District. Festivities for every cyclist include a social group ride, bicycle safety checks by Las Vegas Cyclery, giveaways, two bicycle-inspired public art projects, and much more!\u00a0 All activities, with the exception of the group ride, will take place at the Cycling Vendor Village located at 1208 S. Casino Center Boulevard near the corner of E. California Avenue and S. Main Street.<\/p>\r\n<p>It\u2019s a celebration so be sure to decorate your bikes with lights and check out these fun activities!<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>Community Mural Project<\/strong> <br \/>\r\n<strong>5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. | <\/strong><strong>1208 S. Casino Center Blvd (Near E. California Ave and S. Main St.)<\/strong><br \/>\r\nYou don\u2019t have to be an artist to help complete SNVBC\u2019s community bicycle mural. Created by local artist Shan Michael Evans, this \u201cpaint-by-numbers\u201d style mural allows the community to contribute. Paint and brushes will be available. SNVBC volunteers and local artists will be on hand to provide guidance.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>#NoMoreGhostBikes Community Art Project <br \/>\r\n5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. | 1208 S. Casino Center Blvd (Near E. California Ave and S. Main St.)<\/strong><br \/>\r\nGhost Bikes LV remembers cyclists who have lost their lives in roadway incidents with a white bike as a quiet memorial. It\u2019s also a reminder for people to slow down, be safe, and peacefully coexist on the road. In a show of hope, the community will paint a white ghost bike in a rainbow of color. The organization\u2019s goal is to no longer exist. Paint and brushes will be available. Volunteers and artists will be on hand to provide direction.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Free Social Group Ride<br \/>\r\n6:30 p.m. | Clark County Government Center (500 S. Grand Central Pkwy)<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Cyclists assemble! You will depart from the Clark County Government Center, where free parking is available. Then you will travel through the Arts District and end at the corner of E. California and S. Main Street. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/ways-to-travel\/cycling\/community-group-ride\/\">Riders must register to participate<\/a>. You can bring your own bicycle or you can reserve a rental bike from the <a href=\"hhttps:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/ways-to-travel\/cycling\/community-group-ride\/\">RTC\u2019s Bike Share<\/a> fleet. There are limited Bike Share bikes, and they are first-come-first-served.<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cCelebrate Cycling\u201d is a part of SNVBC\u2019s launch of its third public awareness campaign,<strong> Let\u2019s Get There Together. <\/strong>The campaign kicked off today, Nov. 4, with a press conference and unveiling ceremony for a new mural inspired by the campaign and created by Las Vegas artist Shan Michael Evans and curator Paco \u00c1lvarez.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Get There Together<\/strong> focuses on motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians and urges people to look ahead, be visible, and avoid collisions so that everyone can reach their destination safely.
