UNLV is now recognized as a Tier 1-R1 university<\/strong> which is an institution with very high research activity as classified by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Ed. UNLV is the first school in Nevada with the distinction and is on a list of 120 schools with the rating that includes Harvard, Yale and Princeton. Tier 1 universities generally have $100 million in grants and contracts, award more than 200 doctorate degrees each year and have graduation rates above the national average of 55 percent.<\/p>\r\n The UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law<\/strong> continues to show why it\u2019s among the nation\u2019s top public law schools, rising to 60th out of 193 accredited programs per the annual U.S. News & World list of top graduate and professional schools.<\/p>\r\n The UNLV Lee Business School <\/strong>is in the top five percent of business schools worldwide and is the only Nevada education institution to have a part-time MBA program ranked in the Top 100 by U.S. News & World Report.<\/p>\r\n The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, located in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District, graduated its inaugural class in 2021<\/strong>. Construction on the school\u2019s state-of-the-art new facility is scheduled to be completed in 2022. The five-story building will anchor the Las Vegas Medical District and will be home to UNLV\u2019s academic health center, as well as the schools of Dentistry, Integrated Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing and Public Health.<\/p>\r\n The world-renowned UNLV Harrah College of Hospitality <\/strong>is the ideal location for studying hospitality. More than 2,300 students are enrolled in the college, and 25 percent are international students from 49 different countries.<\/p>\r\n UNLV’s Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering’s Civil Engineering program had four ranked disciplines <\/strong>on the U.S. News & World Report Top 100 Engineering Schools: nuclear engineering (28), aerospace studies (62), environmental engineering (83), and civil engineering (95).<\/p>\r\n Other UNLV programs ranked within their field\u2019s top 100 by U.S. News & World Report include doctoral programs in public affairs (83), sociology (84), political science (89), and English (99).<\/p>\r\n UNLV placed in a four-way tie for first in U.S. News & Worlds Report\u2019s annual listing for the nation\u2019s most diverse universities for undergraduates. U.S. News pulled information from the 2020 fall semester for the 2022 ranking. UNLV ranked second in the 2021 ranking and joins the University of Hawaii-Hilo, Stanford, and the University of San Francisco at the top of the 2022 list. The publication identifies colleges where students are most likely to encounter undergraduates from racial or ethnic groups different from their own.
