To celebrate, the agency is hosting six community events, Aug. 1-6, to generate awareness and provide information before new services begin Sunday, August 8.<\/p>\r\n<p>The service changes will enhance transit access and efficiency while promoting innovation and increasing transit equity in underserved areas. The service changes will provide access to 185,000 residents of which 21,000 are currently living at the poverty level; 18,000 are seniors; 13,000 have a disability; and 79,000 are non-white or Hispanic.\u00a0 This will improve access for 380 eligible Paratransit customers and connect 23,000 individuals to employment opportunities; connect 7,000 resort corridor employees who did not previously have access to transit; and provide direct connections to 43 additional childcare facilities and schools and six grocery stores.<\/p>\r\n<p>Service enhancements also include the introduction of RTC-OnDemand, a pilot microtransit service in the southwest and West Henderson; the implementation of a \u201cTransit Lab\u201d initiative to provide faster and more frequent service to some of the busiest stops along Charleston Blvd. The expansion of services also includes the restoration of weekend service in underserved areas, including Routes 207 (Alta\/Stewart) and 209 (Vegas\/Owens), and by enhancing weekend frequency on Route 210 (Lake Mead Blvd.).<\/p>\r\n<p>Transit service will also resume its regular weekday schedule, following schedule reductions due to COVID-19.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>WHEN\/<br \/>\r\n<\/strong><strong>WHERE:<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The community is invited to participate in the following events hosted by the RTC. Families are encouraged to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/ways-to-travel\/schedules-maps\/service-changes\/2021-service-change\/?utm_source=url&amp;utm_medium=web&amp;utm_campaign=0821servicechange\">RSVP<\/a> to receive museum tickets, while supplies last.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Day Two \u2013 Monday, Aug. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.:\u00a0 Reconnect to Health &amp; Wellness<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong><em>Dignity Health &#8211; St. Rose Dominican Hospital, San Martin Campus, 8280 W.
