This May we are celebrating National Bike Month with exciting new initiatives that will help make riding easier and safer. In addition to being the first transit agency in the country to bring transit and bike share into a single app experience, we are teaming up with local and national partners to launch a bike share loyalty program, offer additional fare pass options, and support a safety campaign to encourage cycling throughout Southern Nevada.<\/p>\r\n

We launched a first-of-its-kind combined mobility service via Transit app, providing customers the opportunity to purchase transit and bike share passes with a single Transit account. This feature fully integrates both services in a single app allowing customers to purchase a transit pass and unlock a bike with just a few taps.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

But wait, there\u2019s more! We have new RTC Bike Share pass options. In addition to the existing $5 daily and $15 monthly passes, a new annual pass for $125 is now available to riders. And thanks in part to grant funding from the Southern Nevada Health District, half price monthly and annual passes are available to Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cardholders.<\/p>\r\n

You guessed it, that\u2019s not all. As a thank you to its devoted riders, the RTC launched a bike share loyalty program, Bikecentives, which provides complimentary limited edition cycling gear to riders each time they reach 50, 150, and 300 rides in a calendar year.<\/p>\r\n

Ok, one more. Safety is always at the forefront. As we encourage more of our residents and visitors to go for a ride, we also want to keep them out of harm\u2019s way. That\u2019s why we are teaming up with the Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition (SNVBC) to promote its Ride Safe: Know Before You Go campaign throughout the month. \"\" The educational program identifies five critical points of gear and behavior for cyclists to keep top-of-mind: Protect Your Head, Be Visible, Choose Safe Routes, Be Predictable, Ride Defensively. This comes after a successful effort earlier this year to educate drivers about sharing the road and looking out for those on two wheels.<\/p>\r\n
