LAS VEGAS \u2013<\/strong> The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is helping the community prepare to fully open on June 1 by providing free transit passes for COVID-19 vaccination appointments.\u00a0 Digital and paper passes will be available by request beginning Monday, April 19 through Monday, May 31, 2021.<\/p>\r\n

Southern Nevadans who would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, but may not have access to transportation, are encouraged to take advantage of free public transit now through the end of May.\u00a0 Upon request, two passes will be provided within 24 hours through the rideRTC app.\u00a0 Passes may also be picked up in person or mailed directly to individuals.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\u201cThanks to federal stimulus funding, we are pleased to be able to provide free transportation for those seeking access to their COVID-19 vaccination appointment,\u201d said Debra March, City of Henderson May and RTC Chairwoman.\u00a0 \u201cAs we prepare for our community to fully reopen on June 1, it is the RTC\u2019s goal to help ensure that we come back healthier and stronger.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

For those interested in taking advantage of free transportation to their COVID-19 vaccination appointment, the process is simple.\u00a0 You can email COVIDpass@rtcsnv.com<\/a> using the email you used to register your rideRTC account and request two free 24 hour passes that will be pushed directly to your mobile account.\u00a0 You can also call 702-901-8495 Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. \u2013 6 p.m., and request two paper passes be mailed to you or be made available for pick up at the RTC\u2019s administration building (600 S. Grand Central Pkwy) or Bonneville Transit Center (101 E. Bonneville Ave.).<\/p>\r\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad to see that funding from the American Rescue Plan is quickly flowing to Southern Nevada to expand vaccine access and crush COVID-19,\u201d said Congressman Steven Horsford. \u201cFree public transportation is an essential service that will help assist our most vulnerable populations, including low income individuals, seniors and people of color.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
