This week, we joined Clark County Commissioners Justin Jones and Tick Segerblom on an action-packed bus ride heading west on the Sahara Express!<\/p>\r\n
The Sahara Express is one of the RTC\u2019s busiest and most expansive routes, connecting over 5,000 daily riders to their destinations. The route also runs through both of the commissioners\u2019 districts.<\/p>\r\n
On their journey, the commissioners mingled with transit riders and visited a few of their favorite businesses along the way, including Cardenas Market, Thrive, Marsigliano\u2019s Pizzeria, and Pro Cyclery.<\/p>\r\n
\u201cThis was a fun way to experience transit while getting to know some of your neighbors and local businesses in our community,\u201d said Commissioner Segerblom. \u201cWe also wanted to highlight the important service that the RTC provides in Southern Nevada and show everyone that public transportation is safe and easy to use.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
Earlier this year, Jones and Segerblom joined the RTC board as Clark County\u2019s elected representatives because of their passion for public transportation.<\/p>\r\n
Especially in uncertain, difficult times, it becomes even more apparent as to why access to safe and efficient public transit matters. Whether it\u2019s traveling to school, work or a medical appointment, transit helps create a solution to these challenges. This is a reality that both commissioners recognize.<\/p>\r\n
\u201cThis was a great opportunity learn about riders\u2019 transit priorities as we move toward reopening our economy and putting the pandemic behind us,\u201d said Commissioner Jones.<\/p>\r\n
