RTC teams up with local child celebrity to surprise bus drivers with a special \u201cthank you\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

LAS VEGAS \u2013 <\/strong>The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC)<\/a> partnered with a local child celebrity this Thanksgiving week to spread gratitude to bus drivers who are on the frontlines during the pandemic.<\/p>\r\n

The idea came from nationally-renowned author and chef, Justyn Boumah, who wanted to thank bus drivers with care packages he created himself. The care packages included items such as candy, snack crackers and stickers, along with face masks, hand sanitizer, and other personal protective equipment.<\/p>\r\n

The five-year-old boy then added an even more personal touch by delivering the care packages himself to drivers during their shifts at the Bonneville Transit Center on Monday, Nov. 23. Boumah wheeled his cart from bus to bus at the transit center, expressing his appreciation to each driver he met. Drivers were pleasantly surprised and welcomed the grand notion from the young boy with a big heart.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The RTC and its contractors would like to express gratitude for the generous gesture and the drivers of RTC vehicles who are among the many essential workers dedicated to keep the city moving during this health crisis.<\/p>\r\n
