{"id":5667,"date":"2020-10-22T11:24:48","date_gmt":"2020-10-22T18:24:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/news\/?p=5667"},"modified":"2020-10-22T11:24:48","modified_gmt":"2020-10-22T18:24:48","slug":"rtc-receives-aa3-fuel-tax-bond-rating-from-moodys-investor-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rtc.staging.snvhost.net\/news\/rtc-receives-aa3-fuel-tax-bond-rating-from-moodys-investor-service\/","title":{"rendered":"RTC receives Aa3 fuel tax bond rating from Moody\u2019s Investor Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Agency\u2019s outlook is stable thanks to community support of Fuel Revenue Indexing (FRI)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/ctt.ac\/gto2Z\">Click to Tweet:<\/a> .@RTCSNV receives Aa3 fuel tax bond rating; outlook stable, thanks to Southern Nevada support of <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/fri\/\"><em>FRI funding<\/em><\/a><\/p>\r\n<p><strong>LAS VEGAS <\/strong>\u2013 The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) received an Aa3 bond rating for its fuel tax refunding bonds from Moody\u2019s Investor Service.\u00a0 Moody\u2019s announced on Oct. 12 that despite recent declines due to COVID-19, the agency maintained healthy debt service coverage, which the RTC credits in large part to Fuel Revenue Indexing (FRI) funding passed by voters in 2016. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>FRI is the process of tying motor vehicle fuel tax to inflation to adjust for rising material and labor costs.\u00a0 The Southern Nevada community voted to extend the funding method for 10 years to provide critical funding for roadway maintenance, improvement and safety projects throughout the valley.\u00a0 The RTC\u2019s current Capital Improvement Program (CIP) includes more than $2.5 billion in roadway projects over the next 10 years.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>\u201cThanks to the foresight of our community members, business leaders and elected officials, our community is in a strong financial position when it comes to roadway funding,\u201d said M.J.
