May is Older Americans Month, a time for us to recognize and honor the contributions that senior citizens have made, whether professionally or personally, to create our community.<\/p>\r\n
At the RTC, we honor our seniors through dedicated transportation services like Silver STAR<\/a> that connects senior living communities to essential services. And when Nevada was directed to stay at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, we partnered with Three Square<\/a> to deliver 300 meals each week to homebound seniors. In fact, we were recently awarded nearly $80,000 in emergency grant funding to help Three Square continue to deliver nutritious food to clients through the Senior Hunger Program<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n So take a moment to check in and thank the special seniors in your life \u2013 the coworker who helps make your day at work a little easier; the grocery store clerk who recognizes you every time you shop; the neighbor who doesn\u2019t have family nearby; or your parent who has supported you since day one.<\/p>\r\n
