Here are some of the projects the Southern Nevada Strong team has been working on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Opportunity Site Progress Reports:<\/strong> <strong>In<\/strong> <strong>efforts to improve our region\u2019s economic competitiveness<\/strong> and education, Southern Nevada Strong identifies specific locations \u2013 known as opportunity sites \u2013 that support further development and reinvestment in existing neighborhoods. The SNS regional plan identifies actions to address a warming climate, which is expected to increase the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events in the coming decades. Through the development of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/apps\/webappviewer\/index.html?id=5aff8de1f90a4d8e97a199d780b49513\">heat vulnerability index and map<\/a>, SNS staff identified areas in the region where populations are at high risk to extreme heat. To address this challenge,\u00a0SNS and the Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan <strong>identifies an action to co-locate community services with transit<\/strong>.
