LAS VEGAS \u2013 <\/strong>The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC)<\/a> encourages commuters to plan ahead in anticipation of heavy traffic and delays during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, particularly for motorists driving on I-15 to and from Southern California. RTC buses will operate on a Sunday schedule for transit service valley-wide on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, and Saturday schedule for transit service on Family Day, Friday, Nov. 24.<\/p>\n

Automobile traffic on I-15, particularly between Southern California and Las Vegas, is sure to be heavy. The RTC recommends traveling outside peak hours to beat the rush, and for those traveling throughout the city, transit is a convenient and stress-free option that eliminates the hassle of parking.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Peak Travel Times
\n<\/strong>Residents and visitors traveling by car should prepare for longer trips, particularly during peak travel times. To avoid traffic congestion and delays, drivers should note that peak drive times on I-15 include southbound traffic to Southern California on Wednesday, Nov. 22, Saturday, Nov. 25 and Sunday, Nov. 26. \n<\/strong>For holiday shoppers looking to eliminate the hassle of traffic and parking, the RTC offers complimentary park-and-ride facilities<\/a> scattered throughout the valley, providing convenient access to transit and carpooling options. Parking spots are on a first-come, first-served basis at all park-and-ride sites.<\/p>\n

Transit Schedules
\n<\/strong>Transit routes valley-wide are available from early morning to late evening, including the Deuce on the Strip. Riders can plan trips and purchase passes through the agency\u2019s free rideRTC app and sign up for real-time transit alerts.<\/a><\/p>\n

Airport Access
\n<\/strong>For those flying over the holiday weekend, free parking is available at the Centennial Hills Transit Center<\/a> or the South Strip Transit Terminal (SSTT)<\/a>, with direct access to Harry Reid International Airport\u2019s Ground Level Zero at Terminal 1 via the Centennial Express (CX)<\/a> or Route 109 Maryland Parkway<\/a>.<\/p>\n
