Joined by Southern Hills Hospital staff, Commissioner Jones celebrated the new signal at Sunset Road and Quarterhorse Lane, just west of I-215 in the Southwest.<\/p>\n<p>The traffic signals enable safer travel for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians in the area.\u00a0The project included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>traffic signal poles\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>induction loop detectors<\/li>\n<li>flashing yellow arrows<\/li>\n<li>closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras<\/li>\n<li>intelligent transportation system (ITS) infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>pavement widening and rehabilitation where needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This $700,000 project is one of many safety improvement projects around the valley funded by Fuel Revenue Indexing. Since 2014, Fuel Revenue Indexing has partially or fully funded 652 roadway projects totaling more than $2.5 billion, with 418 of those completed.
