The funds are applied to a qualifying household\u2019s monthly internet bill, which can result in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cox.com\/residential\/internet\/low-cost-internet-plans.html\">access to free internet service through providers like Cox Communications.<\/a><\/p>\r\n<p>Whether you\u2019re a family with school-age children, a college student, or an older adult on a fixed income, households of all ages are encouraged to apply if their\u00a0<strong>annual income is\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usac.org\/about\/affordable-connectivity-program\/application-and-eligibility-resources\/how-to-prove-income\/\"><strong>200% or less of the federal government\u2019s poverty guideline<\/strong><\/a>. That\u2019s a household income of about $60,000 a year for a family of four, or about $29,000 a year for a household of one.<\/p>\r\n<p>Households can also qualify if they participate in federal or tribal programs such as Medicaid; free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP); Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); Federal Public Housing (including Section 8, Multi-family units, and Public Housing Authorities); Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC); Pell Grant recipient for the current academic year; Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Veterans Pension &amp; Survivors Benefits.
