LAS VEGAS – Realizing Nevada’s opportunity to capitalize on the economic and environmental benefits of clean energy initiatives, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is convening industry leaders at a Clean Energy and Transportation Summit on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Strip View Pavilion. The goal of the summit is to educate residents and local businesses about the development of the clean energy economy in Southern Nevada.

At the summit, Nevada leaders and local and national industry experts will discuss the current and future landscape of the clean energy industry. Speakers will include Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, U.S. Representative Steven Horsford, Nevada Conservation League Executive Director Andy Maggi, UNLV President Dr. Marta Meana, and keynote Carl Pope, senior advisor to Michael Bloomberg and co-author of “Climate of Hope.” Panels will discuss critically important topics, such as how clean energy and transportation can become economic pillars in Nevada and what the future looks like for global sustainability leaders doing business in the Silver State.

The summit will also offer a technology expo where attendees can see and interact with the newest technologies from sustainability and transportation leaders, such as Tesla, Navya, Proterra, Altec, Findlay Chevrolet, Verdek, Geotab, Las Vegas Power Professionals, NV Energy, Southern Nevada Fleet Association, and Nevada Conservation League.
