Get involved this Human Trafficking Prevention Month
Did you know that Nevada reports the second highest rate of human trafficking in the nation? In 2021, the National Human Trafficking Hotline received 571 reports of potential trafficking cases from Nevada, with 249 of those coming directly from victims or survivors.
Human trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, or transfer of persons by force, fraud, or coercion to exploit them. Traffickers profit at the expense of their victims by compelling them to perform labor or engage in commercial sex. Men, women, and children of all ages and backgrounds can fall victim to this crime all around the world.
The RTC invites our community to join in the fight against human trafficking by supporting local organizations working on the frontlines of this issue. During Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and all year long, please visit some of the local organization’s websites below for ways to volunteer, donate, and support survivors of human trafficking.
