You may know RTC as “the bus company”, but we would like to introduce you to our Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) team at the RTC. Think of them as urban architects, shaping the future of our region through strategic planning and collaboration. 

The purpose of the MPO department at the RTC is to bring together local leaders and experts to make long-term plans on how our community grows and moves around. Instead of focusing on just roads or transit centers, MPOs think about how everything fits together – like transportation, land use, equitable mobility and access to jobs, schools, and activity centers, and how it all impacts the environment. By talking to different levels of government and conducting studies and surveys, MPOs help decide how to distribute funding and which projects are priorities for our community. In the simplest terms, they help make sure we grow in a smart and organized way, making life better for everyone who lives here.
